Law Clerk - Family Law - #1005

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced bilingual Law Clerk to join our Family Law Department. This position would suit an individual who wants to work exclusively in the Family Law practice and assist in Mediation practice.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparing correspondence and legal documents
  • Reviewing and drafting financial statements provided by clients
  • Completing all documents for uncontested divorces
  • Compiling pleadings, motion, mediation, conference briefs, affidavits, financial disclosure, and other court documents
  • Arranging for service and filing of court documents
  • Managing team members calendars and schedules
  • Maintaining daily contact with clients, other counsel, and court officials in a professional manner
  • Producing files and documents
  • Opening, maintaining, organizing, and closing client files
  • Addressing client inquiries and scheduling appointments, as required
  • Other general duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary Law Clerk diploma or equivalent degree in related field
  • A minimum of two years of relevant Law Clerk experience is preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and French
  • Excellent technical skills required
  • Solid understanding of Family Law rules and court filing processes
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while paying attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and client service skills
  • Confident, dependable, and flexible, with strong initiative and ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment
