Law Clerk - Real Estate - #1002

Sicotte Guilbault has an immediate opening for a Real Estate Law Clerk in its Ottawa (Orleans) office.

Responsibilities:

Managing residential real estate files from beginning to end
Completing and interpreting title searches
Organizing and tracking flow of work
Preparing legal documentation and handling all aspects of real estate transactions
Maintaining a system for follow up on outstanding matters; initiating follow-up as required
Maintaining client files and records
Preparing final reports and client invoices
Perform miscellaneous clerical and administrative duties as required by the management team.
Assist in other areas of law, including corporate, wills and estates and family law when possible and as required.

Qualifications:

College Degree as a Law Clerk or Legal Assistant
A minimum of two years of experience in real estate law (preferred)
Strong communication skills: oral and written.
Exceptional time management and organizational skills
Ability to handle fast paced, detailed oriented and deadline driven work
Attention to detail and office procedure
Willingness to learn and ability to adapt quickly
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Knowledge or experience in corporate, estate and family law would be an asset
Experience using The Conveyancer and Teraview software
Experience using PCLaw, Fast Company and Estate-a-base software would be an asset
Bilingualism (French/English) would be an asset

We have an immediate opening for a law clerk in our Embrun office (full-time or part-time).


The successful candidate will have:
• Legal Assistant College diploma or related experience
• A minimum of two years of experience in real estate law and or corporate law
• Strong communication skills: oral and written
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills
• Ability to handle fast paced, detail oriented and deadline driven work
• Attention to detail and office procedure
• Willingness to learn and ability to adapt quickly
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Knowledge or experience in wills and estates would be an asset
• Experience using LDD, Teraview, PC Law and Clio
• Bilingualism (French/English) would be an asset

Duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Drafting of corporate articles, minutes and resolutions and maintenance of corporate records and registers
• Drafting corporate/commercial agreements and related documentation
